The Rubiks Cube is a mechanical puzzle invented by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architect Erno Rubik in 1974 and patented a year later. Originally known as the Magic Cube. The puzzle is a plastic cube consisting of small cubes rotating on invisible axes. The sides of the cube can be rearranged into colored squares in different ways. The players task is as follows: each edge must be arranged so that it consists of squares of the same color.
